Dear Parents and Visitors,

The motto of Camden High School is "Commitment to Excellence." The faculty, staff, and students of our school take this commitment seriously in all phases of what we do. 

In the spring of 2014 we were recognized as the high school winner of the Palmetto's Finest award.  This honor was the result of persistence and perseverance  by our students, staff and community.

We encourage parents and community to show support to Camden High by attending school programs and extra-curricular events.  The Bulldog Calendar on the home page provides important dates.

SPIRIT WEEK


Spirit Week will culminate with the Homecoming Game on Friday Night.  The Bulldogs host the A.C. Flora Falcons at Zemp Stadium.  Kickoff is at 7:30.


All students and staff are encouraged to be involved in Spirit Week activities:
America Monday (wear patriotic colors)
Tiki Tuesday
Camo Wednesday
Throwback Thursday
Black Out Friday

Voting for Homecoming Court will be held on Friday at the beginning of second block.
Students who do not have a second block on campus can cast their votes in the Library.

Bulldog Bulletins

Announcements for
Tuesday, September 30th:

Bulldog Brew now has a variety of V8 Fusion fruit drinks available.  Stop by during lunch and give one a try!

Volleyball will hold its Dig Pink event on Wednesday.  The first match between Camden and Cardinal Newman begins at 5:00.  Camden will play Irmo in the third match.  A Silent Auction will be held during Dig Pink.  Come out and support the Lady VolleyDogs and their efforts to raise funds during Dig Pink. 

The ASVAB Military Test will be given on Wednesday.

Senior Orders and Ring Payments will be taken during both lunches on Thursday.

Makeup pictures will be taken on Monday, October  6th.

The Junior Class Ring Ceremony will be held on Monday, October 6th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. 

An SAT workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 8th.  The cost is $30.00 per student for the all-day workshop.  Students must pay Mrs. Raley in the Front Office.

Thursday, October 9th is Ed-Op Day at CHS.  11th and 12th grade students can join representatives in the commons area from 9:45 - 10:30 to gather information and ask questions about colleges and universities.

The Spirit Club will meet today  in the Library.  Members are reminded to pay their dues and to bring concession items for Dig Pink.

There will be a Key Club meeting after school today in Coach Speaks' room 507.We will discuss dues and projects.   Anyone wishing to be a part of one of the oldest school  service clubs is welcome.

Beta Club meeting will be held Wednesday at 3:30 in the Lecture Hall.

New members of National Honor Society should pay their $25 dues to Francesca by Thursday, October 2nd. 

All NHS members will meet in the Lecture Hall on Thursday, October 2nd at 3:30.

Do you want to beat Lugoff in another event this year?  CHS and LE are having a blood battle on October 27th to see which school can donate the most blood. Sign up to give blood  on Wednesday during the lunch perio

Validation lab is held every Thursdays after school from 3:15 to 5:15 in Mrs. Timmons’ room (Room 202). Students will be expected to complete validation packets and work on current school work.


GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The PSAT will be offered at Camden High School on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Cost is only $15. 9th and 11th Graders can sign up by paying Mrs. Fox in the guidance office. Deadline is October 3rd.

Any 9th or 11th Grader who is planning to attend a four year college or university right after high school should take the PSAT.  Benefits for taking the SAT include:
Prepares students for the SAT
Boosts your confidence
Reduces your test anxiety
Assesses your verbal, math, and writing skills
Identifies skills for improvement
Provides entry into scholarship programs

BULLDOGS AT THEIR BEST: Week of September 15-19


The following students were nominated for outstanding attitude and behavior or for their overall citizenship. 

Congratulations to the following students for being nominated for the Bulldog At Their Best Award for the week of 9/19/14. These students were nominated a teacher or staff member for improvement academically in a classroom, outstanding attitude & behavior, or simply by being a good school citizen.

This recognition is given to a student group who has made important contributions
to the success of Camden High.
The first winner of the school year is Student Council for its leadership
during the United Way Rivalry Week campaign. 
The groups who are selected as Top Dogs receive an ice cream party at their next meeting.
