The track team will be selling pizza during both lunches today.
The cost is $2 per slice or 3 for $5.
DeSaussure Tri Hi Y is sponsoring a Dodgeball Tournament tonight at 6:00 in the gym. Tickets are $3.00 in advance and $5.00 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from Mrs. McGee or in the library. Proceeds benefit the Make a Wish Foundation project.
In addition, we thank everyone who contributed to the Bulldog Pearls’ fundraiser for this event.
Members of the track team going to the Diamond Hornet Invitational on Saturday will meet in the Wellness Center immediately after school. You will pick up uniforms, itinerary, and warm ups for Saturday. We will also review the events you are participating in. We will be done by 4:30.
The Student-Faculty March Madness basketball game will be played on Friday, March 14th during fourth block. Signup for students to play in the basketball game is in Mrs. Corner’s office in the two-story building. Students wishing to attend the game must pay $2.00 to their fourth block teacher by Thursday, March 13th. Students who do not have a fourth block class must pay Mrs. Raley in the front office by Thursday, March 13th. Students who do not pay to attend will remain in class.
The girls basketball team will be hosting its annual all-you-can eat pancake supper on Thursday March 27th at the Camden McDonalds. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased from any girls basketball player or from Coach Jeffcoat. Come join us for good food and lots of fun.
Our Jr.-Sr. Prom is fast approaching so start making plans for April 11th. If you would like to bring a quest who does not attend CHS, you must fill out a guest approval form. Forms are available in the front office and the Library and must be returned by March 19th.
Today is the last day students can sign up in guidance to take the ASVAB test.
Today is also the last day students can sign up to take the ASSET test which is the Central Carolina entrance exam.
Palmetto Girls’ State applications are due on Monday, March 10th.
Central Carolina will hold an informational meeting for students and parents on Tuesday, March 11th at 6:00 in the Auditorium. Representatives will provide information on how students can earn college credits and prepare for college level courses before graduating from high school at this session on March 11th.
The South Carolina AHEC Summer Careers Academy will host a one-week summer program with the Medical University of South Carolina Colleges of Nursing, Dental Medicine, Medicine and the South Carolina College of Pharmacy. The program is designed to help underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students prepare for entry into nursing, dental, medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant, and occupational therapy training programs. To be considered, students must be at least 18 by June 7 and submit an online application. The application deadline is March 21, 2014. Interested students can find additional information in guidance.
Camden will host a blood drive on Friday, March 14th at 9am to 2pm in the Gym. Students who are up interested in donating blood must sign up during lunch or in guidance. Please see Mrs. Nelson for further details.
