Announcements for Tuesday, April 22nd:


Students who are running for Student Council and Class elections should see Mrs. Horton by Wednesday if you wish to tape a segment for WDOG.

Attention all students that are running for a student council position: Your signature paper and permission form are due to Ms. Brennen by noon on Wednesday, April 23rd! No exceptions!!!

The SAT Prep Class is scheduled for Friday.  The cost is $30.00 and there are only 60 slots available on a first-pay basis.  Students must pay Mrs. Raley in the Front Office. 

The Platinum Card Luncheon will be held on Wednesday at 12:00.  Students should check the Third Quarter Honor Roll list in front of the Library.  Platinum Plus and Platinum card holders are invited to the luncheon.

Band Spring practice time is 4 until 7 for the remainder of the week.  

Any track member who is in band, football, cheerleading, color guard, etc. must practice today in order to attend tomorrow’s meet. You will practice from 6:00-7:00.

Cheerleading tryouts will begin today at 4:00 in the Wellness Center. All paperwork should be turned in to Mrs. Crolley in room 506.

Anyone interested in trying out for the dance team should pick up a packet in the media center. Tryouts begin April 28th, so get your packet today!

Any senior who is in National Honor Society needs to pay for his/her cord as soon as possible. The cost is $13.00 and should be dropped off with Mrs. Rundlett.

Any junior member of National Honor Society who would like to be an officer next year should download and complete the application on echalk. See Mrs. Rundlett if you have any questions.

The Drama Department’s Production of “A Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00.  Tickets are  $5.00 each.

Each year, the South Carolina Department of Education and Camden High honors graduating seniors who have 12 years of Perfect School Attendance with a special certificate and personal letter signed by the State Superintendent of Education.  Students who have gone through their entire school career with no absences should go by the attendance office and talk with Mrs. McDonald by Friday, May 1st.

Attention rising senior boys:  Palmetto Boys State applications are available in the Guidance Office. If you are interested in attending the 2014 Boys State, come by guidance and pick up an application from Mrs. Fox or Mrs. Dew. The deadline for the Boys State Application is Wednesday, April 30th.  

The word of the day is reclusive which means living a secluded, solitary life.  The sentence of the day was written by SAT verbal team member Kiante Thompson.  Kiante wrote, “The reclusive old woman is rarely seen unless she is walking her dog in the morning.”

SENIOR MAKEUP DELIVERY:

Palmetto Boys State

Attention 11th grade boys: Palmetto Boys’ State will be held at Anderson University June 8-12. This is very special program in our state for motivated young men interested in citizenship and government. Cost is only $80 for the entire week, $40 of which should  be refunded at the end of the week. We encourage our young men at Camden High School to apply. You should have at least a B average. You must pick up an application from Mrs. Fox in the guidance office and turn it back in to her by Tuesday, April 29th.
