Library Media Center News

SUMMER READING INFORMATION
Summer Reading information was sent home with students on Tuesday, May 1st.  All students and staff in the three Kershaw County high schools will be involved in a unique reading opportunity,  "One Book, Everyone Reads."  The book that has been selected for all students and staff to read is THE LAST LECTURE by Randy Pauch.

The Camden High Library Media Center has a limited number of used copies available for $6.00.  The used copies will be sold on a first-come basis.  Students are encouraged to purchase a copy before the end of the school year.  More information about purchasing copies of the book and about the summer reading assignment can be found by clicking the following link.

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Visitors,
Thank you for visiting the Camden High School website. I hope you will take this opportunity to navigate many of its features. Our website contains a wide range of information from student assignments to driving directions to athletic events.

The motto of Camden High School is "Commitment to Excellence." The faculty, staff, and students of our school take this commitment seriously in all phases of what we do.

Interim reports will be given to students on Tuesday, May 1st.  Students will also receive information about this year's Summer Reading program, "One Book, Everyone Reads."

Instruction is our main focus and we take our preparation seriously.  Students are encouraged to ask for help with academics.

All teachers have scheduled after-school help sessions and the Bulldog Success Homework Center is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Assistance in Math is available in Mrs. Twitty's room and assistance in English is available in Mrs. Halligan's room.

The Library Media Center is open after school for students who need to find information or to use computers.

Two important events to recognize academic achievement will be held in May.   The Media Center will hold the Literary Luncheon on Friday, May 4th to recognize students who have met criteria in their English classes.  On Tuesday, May 15th, our Academic Awards Ceremony will be held in the Auditorium.  Both the Literary Luncheon and the Academic Awards Ceremony are sponsored by the Academic Booster Club.

Two other important events in May will recognize accomplishments in athletics and in community/school service.  The Hearts of Gold program, sponsored by the Camden High Alumni Association, will be held on Friday, May 18th to recognize students who have participated in at least two community and/or school service projects.  The Bulldog Athletic Banquet, sponsored by the Camden Bulldog Club, will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd to recognize the accomplishments of our student athletes.

We feel very fortunate to have so many students at Camden High who are dedicated to academics, athletics, and service to others.

With Bulldog Pride,
Daniel H. Matthews
Principal, Camden High School
